So, what’s a tour involve?
The route is customized to your preferences and experience level. Each tour is staffed with a minimum of 1 experienced tour guide per 4 machines to ensure the quality of your experience. Your health and safety is always our top priority.
We offer a BYOM (Bring Your Own Machine) guide service. Own or rent, we meet you at a predetermined location to start your adventure!
What are the tour rules?
We expect that all of our tour participants will behave responsibly. Treat each other and the trails with respect at all times. We do not tolerate aggressive or unsafe driving.
(Don’t do dumb things.)
We abide by all laws and rules of the State of South Dakota and the National Forest Service. You are also expected to adhere to any additional rules set forth by your ATV/UTV rental company (as applicable).
All participants must wear eye protection. Helmets are encouraged for all and required for those under the age of 18.
All machines and drivers must have the appropriate permits and/or licenses.
What to wear, what to wear?
Despite meteorologists’ best efforts, weather in the Black Hills tends to be unpredictable and temperature can vary greatly between the canyons and the hilltops. Be prepared for rain or shine even if the forecast says otherwise. At a minimum, we always bring a jacket and gloves. (Rain gear helps a lot with both moisture and temperature.) We recommend closed-toe footwear.
Trails can also be dusty; we think neck gators, handkerchiefs and goggles are good options.
Don’t forget eye protection and helmets!
What else do I need?
Sunscreen
Water, tea, etc. (carbonated beverages don’t fare well due to bumps on the trails)
Light Snacks (heat-friendly and sealed packages such as chips, nuts, candy, etc.)
A light lunch for 8 hour tours (keep it really simple)
Identification
Cell phones and cameras are great for capturing memories, but ensure they are protected from the elements
